Established in 1964, Thompson & Riley is Lexington and Central Kentucky’s premier auction company. The firm was founded by E.I. (Buddy) Thompson and James L. (Jim) Riley, and together they built the most enduring and reputable real estate and auction firm in the area. Jamie Bates came on staff in 1981 and has since become a principle auctioneer, realtor, and appraiser with Thompson & Riley. In 1982 Buddy Thompson retired and at the end of 2000, Jim Riley retired as well.
Today the tradition continues at Thompson & Riley.
